Haydock Commercial Vehicles: Our Path to Success with E-Workshop 

Gary Bumford, Aftersales Director at Haydock Commercial Vehicles shares his insights on Inspire’s E-Workshop (Vehicle Workshop Health and Safety E-Learning Solution).

Gary Bumford has a keen focus on Health and Safety and working with Inspire takes a shared and proactive approach in creating a safe working environment.

“Health and Safety is a collective effort by all members of the team. For people to contribute to a safe environment they need to have the appropriate knowledge which comes through practical and theoretical training.  Inspire provide face to face and online training for the Haydock Commercials group. The online training is available via the E-Workshop online platform and covers a broad range of subjects, some generic and some specific to our working environment.

All employees are registered on the system from joining the company as a new starter. Initial training is required at Induction with on-going courses and toolbox talks being part of their development.

We have an opportunity to review and contribute to any new training prior to release which is key to ensuring the training is appropriate.  In addition, the benefit of online training is we have a sight of training progress and completion rates. 

I will say that online training can initially be seen as a tick box exercise, but the E-Workshop courses are excellent and should be promoted as a valued tool in the box. The system is an asset to our business”.
