About this course:
There have been serious and fatal accidents when a lifted vehicle has fallen on to a worker due to failure of the lifting equipment or due to the vehicle falling from it.
This training looks at some of the common issues that occur during vehicle lifting operations and what employees can do to make using the equipment as safe as possible. It also gives an insight in to the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER).
This e-learning module will cover:
- Vehicle Lifts, Jacks, Props and Stands – This gives an insight in to the dangers of using lifting equipment and common issues that employees may face.
- Control Measures – This looks at what employees can do to reduce the risk associated to using lifting equipment.
- LOLER – This gives an insight the requirements under the Lifting Equipment and Lifting Operations Regulations 1998 (LOLER).
Learning Outcomes
- You will gain an understanding of the dangers associated to using different types of lifting equipment.
- You will understand what precautions and control measures you should put in place to protect you and others when using any lifting equipment.
- You will understand some of the requirements under LOLER.
Course Completion
At then end of this course you will be required to complete a multiple choice assessment based on the information provided and what you have learned.
You will need to pass the assessment within this course to ensure successful completion. The pass mark is 80%
You will have a maximum of 3 attempts to reach the required pass mark. You can revisit the course content if you need to before attempting the assessment again.
Once the assessment has been passed, you will be issued with a certificate.
