Rygor – Health and Safety Policy Statement

Rygor Commercials Ltd. exists to protect the health, safety and welfare of our employees,
those we work with, and those who visit our sites. We aim to provide and maintain a safe and
healthy working environment for all.
To achieve this, we will:

  • continually improve our performance in occupational health and safety
  • as a minimum, comply with all applicable Health and Safety legislation
  • continually improve our occupational risk management system
  • provide adequate and appropriate resources and training across all company activities to
    ensure our health and safety objectives are implemented, communicated and
    understood
  • regularly review the safe systems of work to ensure suitability, adequacy and effectiveness
  • select and monitor contractors to ensure appropriate standards of health and safety are
    achieved
  • ensure that all driving duties are carried out in a correct and legal manner.
  • communicate with employees, visitors and contractors so everyone is fully aware of our
    health and safety expectations
  • maintain close co-operation with clients, sub-contractors, HSE Inspectorate, Safety
    Advisors, and all Law Enforcement Agencies, so far as is reasonably practicable


Occupational health and safety legislation places an equal responsibility on employees
to take reasonable care of their own health and safety, the wellbeing of their colleagues, and
all others who may be affected by their behaviour.
We are committed to ensuring all employees are aware of these responsibilities and are
engaged in and committed to improving standards of health and safety.
This policy statement may be amended, monitored and added to from time to time, and a
copy will be issued to all employees and others affected by such change

Whilst working on any task within my Employment Contract, I will undertake to ensure that
I work in a safe manner, with regard to my own safety at all times, and the safety of those
around me.
I will undertake to ensure that my immediate working area remains free of hazards that may
cause harm to either myself or others around me. I will maintain an awareness of those fixed
hazards in my immediate area that may be of concern, such as open pits or oils & lubricants, or
tools powered by electricity or compressed air, and maintain the necessary personal
awareness, to ensure my own safety and the safety of those around me.
I am aware that Risk Assessments exist for all tasks that I may be required to
undertake, and that a Risk Assessment process in place. I am aware that I can be given the
requisite Risk Assessment for any task that I am undertaking, by requesting a copy from my
Line Management.
I will ensure that I comply with all extant Safe systems of Work and Method Statements for any
task that I am required to undertake.
I will complete all mandatory online Health and Safety training and e-learnings as put in place
by the Rygor business.
In the event of any accident or injury, I will follow the reporting procedure as laid down in the
Company Employee Handbook

Company Health & Safety Induction for New Starters

You should tick the relevant “Yes” box where the item has been covered and tick the “No” box
where the item has not been dealt with. You should retain the check sheet until all items have
been completed.
Note. A copy of the completed checklist will be retained on your personnel file.
