Who is this course for?

This course is designed to be undertaken by all job roles within a vehicle workshop.

About this course

In a vehicle workshop, you are likely to encounter chemicals and substances such as paints and chain sprays, or carry out processes that can produce substances such as welding. These are all substances can can be harmful to your health and have the potential to result in occupational diseases. What makes working with hazardous substances particularly hazardous is that the consequences of working with them can be chronic; you may not recognise your ill health until weeks, months, or even years later. This course intends to help you keep safe around hazardous substances so that you do not fall ill as a result of your work with or around them.

This e-learning module will cover

  • You will be introduced to the definition of COSHH and hazardous substances.
  • What GHS pictograms are and how to interpret them.
  • Safeguards and precautions put in place by your employer
  • Your duties as an employee.
  • What to do in the event of an incident.

Learning outcomes

  • Understand COSHH and how it applies to vehicle workshops.
  • Identify each GHS pictogram and what each one means.
  • Understand your duties under COSHH and how you will fulfil them

Course completion

At then end of this course you will be required to complete a multiple choice assessment based on the information provided and what you have learned.

Delegates will need to pass the assessment within this course to ensure successful completion. The pass mark is 75%

You will have a maximum of 3 attempts to reach the required pass mark. You can revisit the course content if you need to before attempting the assessment again.

Once the assessment has been passed, you will be issued with a certificate.

The certificate will clearly show your name; your company name; name of course taken; pass percentage; expiry date and any applicable course accreditation marks.
